Learning Through Play, Relationships & Purposeful Experiences

At Early Milestones Children’s Center, curriculum is more than a lesson at a particular time of day. Children learn throughout the day through play, routines, conversations, relationships, exploration, teacher-guided experiences, and interactions with their environment.

Teachers plan developmentally appropriate experiences based on children’s ages, interests, abilities, and observed needs. Activities are designed to support the whole child and provide opportunities for growth across key developmental areas.

  • Social-emotional development and positive relationships
  • Language, communication and early literacy
  • Early mathematics and problem-solving
  • Science, nature and discovery
  • Fine- and gross-motor development
  • Creative arts, music and movement
  • Self-help skills and growing independence
  • Approaches to learning, curiosity and persistence

Observation and ongoing assessment help teachers understand each child’s progress and plan meaningful next steps. Families are valued partners and are encouraged to share information that helps us better understand and support their child.
